CropperCapture[18] After two years of intensive study and consultation, the Comprehensive Review Task Group is recommending major changes to The United Church of Canada that would revitalize and nurture a range of ministries, simplify governance and administration, and enable the church to live within its resources. “We believe God is doing a new thing and is calling us to change dramatically so we can participate fully in God’s mission,” explains the Rev. Cathy Hamilton, chair of the task group. “Our current organizational structure is simply not sustainable from the point of view of either our volunteers or our finances.” Click here to view a video of Rev Cathy Hamilton introducing the Recommendations

Maundy Thursday Ecumenical & Intergenerational Communion Service

CropperCapture[9]

This year, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Coldwater will be hosting an ecumenical Maundy Thursday Communion service on Thursday, April 2nd at 7 pm preceded by a community supper at 6pm. Rev. Debbie will be participating in the service along with Rev. Courtney Morris-Crawford, Rev. Bright Yun and Rev. Ron Maclean. The supper will be a simple yet hearty meal of soup and bread before we all go upstairs for the service.

This intergenerational service will be a time to remember Jesus’ last supper with his friends in the upper room on the night before he died.  It is an intimate and meaningful service that we hope all will participate in as we journey together through Holy Week.  If you are willing to help out by making a large crock pot of soup to contribute to the meal, please let Rev. Debbie know by calling Unity United at 705-835-2903 or by filling out the form below.
